Saint Paul's Cathedral

St. Paul's is one of the grandest Cathedral built. It has the second largest dome in Europe. It took the architect 38 years to design and build it. During Work War II, a patrol was made of hundreds of men and women to protect it from bombs. Each person only had a helmet and a bucket of sand. If a bomb fell on the roof, they would put the flame out with the sand before it exploded.
The building is very spacious and all of the tombs are in the crypt. The cathedral contains a few memorials. There are two altars - the high altar and the smaller altar, used for daily masses. Down in the crypt there are many tombs, statutes, and writings. Sadly, no photography is allowed in the cathedral. Please enjoy the outside view.
