The Jane Austen Center

Jane Austen is a famous writer from the eighteenth and ninteenth century. Some of her most famous works include Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Northanger Abbey, Emma, and Persuasion. Most of her works are about the society of her day. During her time, a young lady's goal was to marry a rich man, even if you didn't love him. Jane rebelled against this and never married because she never found a man that she loved. Through her books, she showed the world how silly society was. Her books are still as widely popular as they were in her day.
Jane lived in Bath for six years, but never liked it because her father died while she were there. She didn't write any of her books in Bath either. We took a tour of the center and learned about Jane and her family. Please enjoy the pictures!
