The Roman Baths

The Roman Baths were made when the city of Bath was first founded. They produce minerals that can cure many diseases, including leprosy. Over the centuries the baths became overgrown and forgotten. Two different bath houses have been built over the Roman Bath in the past 400 years. The hot springs still produce steam, even in the cold air of March. The water is green in the baths because it is not clean.
I learned that the bath's patron goddess is the Roman goddess Minerva. She is the goddess of wisdom and crafts, but was not a favorite of the Romans.
There were many artifacts that have been found in the baths. One of the most famous is a bronze head of a statue of Minerva. The baths were truly amazing and we hope you enjoy!
